Yesterday we made it to the beach...at least our own little version of a beach just down the road. We love this park. The girls love this park. It's such a perfect small town swimming hole with warm shallow waters, a sandy beach littered with abandoned sand castles and forgotten toys, and high school kids in life guard towers counting down the days 'til school starts again. It's always hard to take pictures when we come, and lately I've found myself torn between enjoying the moment and capturing it. I did take a couple of pictures, but there are so many more in my mind...of Quinn riding on Phil's back, finally trusting him enough to taker her to the deep end, of Myla dipping her face in up to her nose and saying she's "swimming," and of sitting with two small girls in the shallow end once our swimming was over. Just picking up stones, plopping them back in, and watching the water ripple around us, and I just want to tell them, "Don't grow up too fast! We can stay as long as you want!"
