Welcome Buddy Yoyo!

Just about three weeks ago we decided things weren't crazy enough around here, so we brought home a ten week old labradoodle.  We've been wanting a dog since we moved into the new house with its kid/dog paradise in our huge backyard, but after our last heartbreak, we had two very important criteria: love our kids, and no shedding!  The girls loved him from the start and even named him after their special made up song, "Happy Birthday, Buddy Yoyo," but I was a little concerned the feelings might not be mutual because whenever the girls came near him, he literally flopped to the floor and played dead.  For the first three days he slept for about 23 hours a day and only came alive for the hour after the girls had been put to bed.  We were beginning to think he might be a cat.

As he got more used to us all, though, he started to come out of his shell and has become a real family dog with a special place for each of us in his heart.  When he wants to be important, he follows Phil around the house looking for chores.  When he's feeling more playful, he hops up on the trampoline with Myla.  When he's needing a snack, he follows Quinn around patiently waiting for her to drop things, share licks, or hold up sticky fingers.  When he needs a good back scratch, he waits for me to sit and comes bouncing over.
